Misleading Marketing

The picture on the package indicated that it would make baby and mama smile and giggle as they read books, eat peas, and play with blocks. Not the case:

Caroline says the Bumbo is dumb-o. I've heard it takes 10 times for something to become normal for a baby...we're at three. We'll try it again in a couple of weeks.

Megan didn't like hers until she could hold her head up. I think it was around 3-4 months when we let her sit in it. You might want to wait a bit and try again. I think the "age" on the box was 3 months and up. She might just be too little to actually realize how fun it is. Unfortunately once Megan could sit unsupported, she didn't want anything to do with it anyway. Not to mention her little legs got SO chunky that she got stuck in it. It was like wedging her in and out. Not the most fun for mom for sure!

Bryce agrees with Caroline that the Bumbo was dumbo. He never liked his.

I work with Mike and have never heard a daddy talk so sweet (and so much!) about his little baby girl. I enjoy your website and hope you don't mind if I check it out periodically. It was my guilty pleasure at work today. Caroline is so cute. Bring her up to GSOC sometime.

Macie never liked it before she could sit up. She likes to climb in and sit in it now though. I have seen it work great for some people.

hey suz! i'm all caught up on your blog spot and i have enjoyed it all! caroline is precious and you are a wonderful mommy. And I just have to add that I looked forward to those early morning feedings, too. Never afraid of messing up a routine, I loved napping with my girls or just watching them sleep on my chest when they were Caroline's age. You can never hold your baby too long or too much. Also loved that "little noses" picture! Anyway, hope to see you soon...

Samuel didn't enjoy the Bumbo seat when he was her age, but then he did later. I was glad he started to enjoy it because it was a great way to know where he was. One way I used it was to give me a chance to shower- I would sometimes put him in it in the bathroom with me or when he was older I popped in a video and it was his tv watching chair until I was done with my shower. That worked until he was about 11 mo. old and learned how to get out of it... :) I hope Vance likes the Bumbo!

We never had one with Madeline but I don't think they are going to be happy anywhere that is not in someone's warm arms! Try again, though, when she can sit up better by herself and it might be more comfortable for her. She's still so tiny in that big chair (even if you do call her a "Huge" baby!). Isn't it amazing to think how much they've grown. Wait til she's 2 1/2...it's like, how can this be the same little thing I gave birth too?!? I can't wait til it finally gets and stays warm so she can wear her cute new summer clothes but it's also bittersweet to think she'll never wear these clothes again because they'll be two small next fall!
